I really want to learn a few languages. Obvioulsy not fluently, but i want to get a good basis so that when i go to the country it will be easy for me to progress from there. I’ve done GCSE spanish which is pretty basic so it would be good to get other languages upto that level so that in my gap year i can hopfully get much better. My first question is what is the best/quickest way to learn a language. Do these discs and CDs that teach you actually work? If the answer is that the best way is to get a teacher, i can’t do that so please give the next best way.
Also, how many languages would be too much to be studying? Idealy what i want is:
German
Italian
French
Romanian
Hebrew
I know it would be insane to try them all at once, but i’m wondering what’s the most that would still be effective. I’ve got the whole summer to work on them!

okay so i get that like avere and essere have irregular and regular verbs to go with each of them and that the regular verbs have the -ato, -uto, -ito endings. What I dont get is like when you change the last letter of the ending to fit with gender and number. like masculine plural should be ati, uti, iti, and feminine singular should be ata, uta, ita, and feminine plural should be ate, ute, ite. how would you put those in a sentence. is it based on the noun after the verb?
im sorry this is so wordy. i just have an italian test tomorrow and i wanna understand it.
thank you so so so so much!!!!!!!! :]

The Canadian Tenors review.
Written by ____,
Oct. 4th, 2008
The four tenors (Remigo Pereira, Fraser Walters, Jamie McKnight and Victor Micallef)
Described as “a national treasure” preformed their mix of opera, pop opera, classical and contemporary pieces, sung in French, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, even Maltese at ________ on October 4th 2008.Their performance was outstanding, their ability to harmonize was what caught my attention the most. How their voices complemented each other rather than one taking over the show was also very nice. The incorporation of comedy between songs lightened the mood of some of the heavy pieces, Frasier Walters even made a reference to _____ recalling her singing with him at the opening of a Vancouver hockey rink.
However, I did not like when they added their own lyrics to the songs, I believe the originals were much better. I was also irritated when during a song they switched languages – going to from such a smooth language (i.e., Italian) to a less flowing one (English) which changed the speed and mood of the song.
Overall rating 9.5/10

I got the homework assignment last night and it’s due in an hour and a half. I really need an online dictionary, even if I have to pay for it. Any help would be great.

for those who dont understand this question, you can either review my latest question, of which four people answered i look more Canadian. the question asked was: Do i Appear More French? Canadian? Italian? or German? (or at least very close to this wording of the ?)
or you can also look at my picture, which is the same & is the Real Me as my pic on my profile, on flickr. just go to this site to view the same pic as the others did in my last question.
i would like to know what made me appear or seem more Canadian than the other ethnicities i’d mentioned in my earlier question from a few days ago. i just want to make sure that it wasn’t something that can easily be changed like hair or makeup.
thanks for the answers, you guys!! = ] you guys are great!
p.s here’s the flickr site for the pic! ^_^

how can i learn italian with out forgetting spanish? it’s hard for me to practice spanish because in school and in work i have to speak english…
its just hard to keep my mind refreshed with spanish when i speak english most of the time….
have spanish friends but, i spend a lot of time working and in school so…the majority of the words that come out of my mouth are in english….
any suggestions on how i can maintain/improve spanish while learning italian?
don’t recommend listening to those stupid cd lessons in the car, those are crap…….
also, are there any complications with learning more than one language at once? i mean, is there any proof or something that it would make it more difficult
if anything i think it would only help….especially if you study more than one latin language at once….since many words are similar and stuff…..
