How should I attempt to learn? Any recommendations for learning aids? There are no classes at my school.

If I study for an hour a day and listen to songs, watch tv and the like in Italian will I have a good grasp 2 and a quarter years from now? I don’t want to be fluent ( that takes time and I will try once I move), just be able to communicate.

Vorrei vedere il film "Under the Tuscan Sun". Questo è un grande film. Non è spaventoso, ed è molto adatto per i giovani. È dotato di Diane Lane e Sandra O. Essa mostra uno splendido scenario della Toscana e la vita quotidiana degli italiani. Ha anche una trama interessante per quanto riguarda storia d’amore e di amicizia. Le recensioni per questo film erano molto buone! Sono eccitato!

Me e ai miei amici vogliono andare a vedere domani a Roma, Piazza Della Repubblica. Portano le loro ragazze. Vado a chiedere al mio compagno di classe per andare a un appuntamento con me.

Dopo il film che vogliamo visitare un bar e una discoteca. Faremo ballare tutta la notte e godere il nostro tempo a Roma! Sarà quindi rientro in hotel e relax.

Me ei miei amici stanno avendo un sacco di divertimento qui a Roma. E ‘una bella città. Noi restiamo sicuri e ci manca New York. Non preoccuparti per noi!

my favorite teachers name is mr. selby. he teaches religion, english, history and geography. he is 36 years old and born on the 20th of january 1973. he is of australian origin.
he has blue eyes, and short brown hair. he is short, strong, and smart.
mr selby is silly and likeable.
mr selby likes his old year seven class and fishing. he doesn’t like annoying girls.

I had my first Italian class today and i got really pissed off that the teacher was speaking straight italian the entire time. the worst part is that the classroom has changed to another building and i dont know what she meant. can anyone translate this to me?

so i took a test in italian class today. i just want to know if i put the right answer for these questions.

1. there was this paragraph about a family eating some meal "alle sei" (at six o’ clock in the evening)

and then it asked me in italian time, not american time, what time they eat the meal.
A) venti.
B) diciotto.
C) sedici.

the whole time i was thinking B, diciotto, but something told me to put A, venti.

2. next question we had to put in the correct possessive thing. like…il mio, il loro, la loro, la vostra…things like that.

so we had to use his/her. it was fill in the blank
____ oroligio ‘e molto whatever.
i put il suo. is that right?

3. which of the following is an appitizer (antipasto) in italy!??
a. was an advertisement for a place that sells specialty sea food like shrimp & lobster.
b. was a place that sells different kinds of pasta.
c. was a place that sold prosciutto (ham) and salumi or something like that.

i don’t think any of them are appetiziers…which one of them would have been correct?

I want to organize an intensive Italian Cooking Class. I want to know from you what you would like to learn, how you would like it to be.
I was thinking about meeting twice a week for three weeks, for two hours ( 7-9pm) time to eat what we prepared included.
is this too much time, or too little?
This class would also explore psychological features of eating and would link the cooking experience with cultural facts ( hystory of recipes, cities and landscapes in Italy when they are made…)

Ok, I’m reading this story called La roba by Giovanni Verga for my Italian class. And I don’t understand the first part. I’ve tried to translate it, but it just doesn’t make any sense. Believe me, I tried! But I need help. Pleasee anyone who speaks Italian and English will be able to help me. I would really appreciate it!

I understand the first couple of lines, but then the rest I don’t. Please help!!!

I am going to college next year, and i am looking into what classes to take.
I am really interested in the italian language, and want to maybe major in it. So what jobs could i get if i major in Italian? and maybe minor in political science.
