Learning Italian the Easy Way
I am running a Christmas around the world in my class and I ned help with Italy. What are some fun, but quick activities I can do with FIRST GRADERS?
I was just reading up on stuff online. I know that most of the Mafia in America around the early 1900’s were Italian. But what I mean is, the mafia IN Italy or the mafia IN America. The settings are different.
What’s your opinion? Are there defining features of each kind, that make one more badass than the other, etc etc?
I’m just looking for story material and such.
Please tell me what you think! If you have resources that I could read, that would be cool.
okayy.
so i took a test in italian class today. i just want to know if i put the right answer for these questions.
1. there was this paragraph about a family eating some meal "alle sei" (at six o’ clock in the evening)
and then it asked me in italian time, not american time, what time they eat the meal.
A) venti.
B) diciotto.
C) sedici.
the whole time i was thinking B, diciotto, but something told me to put A, venti.
2. next question we had to put in the correct possessive thing. like…il mio, il loro, la loro, la vostra…things like that.
so we had to use his/her. it was fill in the blank
____ oroligio ‘e molto whatever.
i put il suo. is that right?
3. which of the following is an appitizer (antipasto) in italy!??
a. was an advertisement for a place that sells specialty sea food like shrimp & lobster.
b. was a place that sells different kinds of pasta.
c. was a place that sold prosciutto (ham) and salumi or something like that.
i don’t think any of them are appetiziers…which one of them would have been correct?
thanks!!!
I want to organize an intensive Italian Cooking Class. I want to know from you what you would like to learn, how you would like it to be.
I was thinking about meeting twice a week for three weeks, for two hours ( 7-9pm) time to eat what we prepared included.
is this too much time, or too little?
This class would also explore psychological features of eating and would link the cooking experience with cultural facts ( hystory of recipes, cities and landscapes in Italy when they are made…)
do you think you would be interested?
please send me any suggestions you have , or simply your dreams!
thank you!
I want to live in Italy for a couple of months and do an intensive language program and maybe some cooking classes. I am 55 and don’t want a program that is only college age students. I would like to rent my own apartment near the school. I like the area around Florence, but would consider any area. I’m not a total beginner, but almost.
PLEASE TRANSLATE THE FOLLOWING:
"If I could get a job, I would be a clerk. The wages are not great, but I would be making money instead of staying around the house."
"If I earned enough money, I would save up until I could afford a good laptop computer."
"I wish I could go visit my friends overseas, but it is very hard to find a time when they are not on vacation."
"Is it Saturday? I don’t even know what day it is today."
"It is very cold in winter and the pool is freezing. There isn’t any snow, but there is alot of rain."
"Like I said, I went to Italy. I travelled mostly by plane and car. I visited Venice, Rome and Positano. Rome was terrible, Positano was beautiful and Venice was my favourite place of all."
"It would be exciting to visit a historically significant theatre."
Thankyou, very much.
I don’t really trust translators. I speak English and Spanish fluently and I know that when I translate a sentence from English to Spanish the order of words and such don’t make much sense. Does anyone speak Italian well and can translate this for me? Thanks in advance =)
Good day and welcome. We are the 10th grade class and we are representing Italy. We are very proud to present to you our Italian culture though our delicious foods. Please enjoy.
I am considering studying abroad for a year in Italy, and was curious to know how long it would take to become fluent in Italian, with only English known and a little Latin, taking classes everyday and trying to speak it everyday.
This is what I need translated. I would really appreciate anyone who could do it for me.
" Nothing is wrong! Not at all! I’m sorry I haven’t written, I have had a very busy weekend, and wasn’t able to use my computer. My father took me to New York City to get school clothes and a few other items. I am trying to get most of my school clothes in America, as a pair of jeans here are , which translates to about 43 euro. I understand that clothes are much more expensive in Italy. It said in a pamphlet that INTERCULTURA sent me that one pair of jeans in Italy is 90 Euro. That’s about 0!
Anyway, I was planning on writing to you this morning when I woke up, but you beat me to it! I’m glad we finally know what is going on with the travel arrangements, as I was uninformed about what was happening after I arrive in Rome.
My cat wishes to say hello, as he has just jumped onto my keyboard! He wants attention I think. Sorry it took me so long to write!
A hug,
Amanda
I’d really appreciate it , by the way.
