Only people who can speak Italian, please. Online translators can’t be trusted. Anyway:

‘What the hell does he think he’s doing? I don’t care how you do it, get him back on the f*cking radio!’

Thanks in advance.
you don’t trick me, that answer was from an online translator.
uhh, I’m still uncertain, I translated your answer on an online translator and its meaning is really far from it.

btw, cazzo translated to ‘I haul’ on the translator.

Sopranos music – Italian song at Furio’s Party?

Does anyone know what song in Episode 4.4 ("The Weight") Meadow was playing, the one that distracted Carmela when Tony was trying to have sex with her?

I’m pretty sure it was the same song played at Furio’s party (the one Carmela and Furio danced to) but it could be a bit different.

Thanks in advance!

Can some native Italian speaker tell me what this means; (or is it even correct Italian?!)

Ti piace Gioacchino Rossini… questo è molto bene… voi avete buon gusto. Congratulazioni.

Thanks in advance :D
Char
Oh yea and how do I answer it? I mean what’s the answer to it?

Thank you =)

I’m an English teacher so I’m no stranger to grammar in general. Having said this, When I learned Italian I used 501 Italian verbs (Barron’s), it was of great help to me. I am presently using a book called Essentials of English Grammar for my English students…I would love to find a book that uses the same techiniques for French. I would like to know which book would be the most thorough and clearly explained French grammar book that I can find ao that I can get cracking.

Thanks in advance for the participation and advice.

This is what I need translated. Thanks in advance!!

"So far, I am enjoying life in Gela very much. The way of life and people are very different from anything in America. The people are nicer, the food is better, the sea is beautiful, and the atmosphere is wonderful. In America, everyone is always in a hurry. The pace of life is much more relaxing. People are also more willing to be kind. I feel very at home here, and I’ve only been here a month."
No online translators please, they are completely innacurate. Also, I need it from English to Italian, in case that wasn’t clear. Thanks a lot !!

Is it too early to ask her out?

I met this girl about two weeks ago in the lunch line and I hadn’t really talked to her since we met. Last night she sent me an email asking if I was italian (I know, weird question) and we sparked a conversation from that. I told her that I was really bad at french and she said that she would tutor me. I didn’t talk to her today at school cause I don’t have any classes with her but I’d like to ask her out for the weekend. Should I ask her today if she can do something this weekend or is it too early?

Thanks in advance :)
When I say "ask out" I literally mean ask out. Not be my girlfriend but like "would you like to go to dinner this weekend?". yeah…

How would a career as a linguist be?

So, after sorting out career options, I’ve decided to focus on linguistics and I have several questions on it.

I’m in 11th grade and I’m at that age where I need to decide on what colleges to do to and what I want to do for my life.

I’ve crossed out so many options and came up with linguist. Why?

I love learning new languages. I know Spanish and English of course. I’ve been to Germany, France, and Japan…so I experienced first-hand because I had host families and went to school there. Yada yada.

I managed to learn Finnish and Italian through CD-Roms and the internet. In my senior year, I will be taking Arabic. My mother has bought me a few books and CD-Roms that have 10 language-teaching programs on them. I find it so interesting to learn all of these and this is honestly what I’m considering.

But is that enough? How many languages should a linguist know? I guess it depends on where you want to go/do….

My high school has these classes called "concentrations" – sort of like majors in college. I’ve been in Language Arts for 4 years and this year my class is AP English and Composition. I’m very good with grammar and understanding parts of speech, ect….so that’s sufficient to learning more languages….right?

So….final questions:

But it doesn’t matter how many languages I know…I want to teach English as a second language in a different country.

Which countries have a semi-need/demand for English teachers….if there are any?

What majors would I take in college? Would I be able to take those in the United States or would I have to leave the country?

How long should I be in college to get a good career?

Where would you apply for a job like that?

Sorry this is so long…I just feel like I should know all of this stuff. Thanks in advance….
